Thank you for showing interest in Antioch Church
Our desire at Antioch Church is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and to seek to follow His will and His teaching with our lives.
Our mission embodies the purposes that Jesus Christ has given to His church: to worship together as one, to reach out to others with God’s love and to grow together spiritually in our walk with Jesus Christ.
Each one of us is an integral part of the church, the body of Christ, and God has brought us together with our unique gifts and perspectives to encourage and to support one another.
Together we share a common bond and unity in Jesus as we strive together to fulfill the mission that He has given to us.

The History of Antioch Church

Beginning as an Episcopalian parish in 1734, the original chapel building was placed upon a tract of land that would later become known as Antioch Church. The second building, called Pierce’s Chapel, gradually fell into disuse and was bought by the Christian Church of the South in the late 1700’s. Although there were some difficult days from the formation of Antioch Christian Church in 1828 until the early 1900’s, God continued the ministry of proclaiming His Word through the faithfulness and loyalty of the members of this small church. Many notable ministers, missionaries and lay leaders were a part of the ministry of Antioch Church in her early years.
Looking back upon its more recent history, God continued to bless the ministry of Antioch Church. From 1950-1970, the church prospered, adding a new structure to the existing building during this time. In 1970, after the Christian Church denomination merged with the United Church of Christ, the members of Antioch Church voted to withdraw from the Christian Church denomination. It was also around this time that the affiliation of four churches to which Antioch Church belonged, disbanded and became independent local churches. After experiencing a time of growth, a second addition was added to the church building and the AWANA ministry began in 1978. The missionary outreach of the church continued to grow as well, and Antioch Church began supporting missionary families overseas.
In many different avenues and through various means God has used the ministries of Antioch Church to further the work of His kingdom. Whether joyfully teaching the Bible in the AWANA youth program, or applying the principles of God’s Word to our lives from the pulpit and teaching ministry, or reaching out in love and encouragement to one another in the body of Christ, the members of Antioch Church seek to faithfully love and serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ until He returns.
